Cabo Wabo TequilaThis summer our competition team, Burnt Finger BBQ, is working with Cabo Wabo Tequila to ensure that the drinks we’re sipping during the heat of competition are as bold in flavor as our championship barbecue.

Cabo’s roots run deep – born in the agave fields of Mexico, and praised in the bars, man caves and backyard barbecues of America. Founder – Sammy Hagar – was devoted to creating a tequila that would embody his beliefs of living free, working hard and playing harder. The result is a “Thick Cut Tequila” with an agave-forward taste that cuts no corners and makes no apologies.
Here are the tequilas we’ll be responsibly drinking by the grill:

Cabo Blanco
Cabo Wabo Blanco is the foundation for every tequila we craft, so it has to be perfect. That’s why we hand-harvest and craft it with 100% Weber’s Blue Agave. The result is a smooth, clear tequila that serves as a sipper or premium mixer. When you get down to it, Blanco is a classic, done the Cabo Wabo way.

Tasting Notes:

  • Color: Crystal-clear
  • Nose: Fresh and Floral
  • Taste: Slightly Spicy with Lime, Agave-forward Flavor
  • Finish: Crisp and Clean

Cabo Reposado
We take our award-winning Blanco tequila and age it for 4-6 months in American oak barrels. The result delivers a smooth, agave-forward flavor with a subtle, additional flavor reminiscent of the oak casks it rested in. Upon pouring, you’ll quickly realize that Cabo Wabo Reposado is an ideal grill companion, on its own or mixed in your favorite patio drink.

Tasting Notes:

  • Color: Amber-gold
  • Nose: Hints of Sweet Lime, Orange and Fresh Herbs
  • Taste: Bold, Peppery Flavor with Hints of Lingering Fruit
  • Finish: Long, Spicy

Cabo Añejo
Aged for a long 14 months in American oak barrels, Cabo Wabo Añejo is a complex, agave-forward tequila that deserves to be sipped and savored. The nose will remind you of a fine whiskey while the ultra-smooth, yet bold flavor that Cabo Wabo is famous for will make it difficult for you to decide whether you like it better neat or on the rocks.

Tasting Notes:

  • Color: Amber-gold
  • Nose: Hints of Vanilla and Caramel
  • Taste: Woody Notes with Hints of Honey and Chocolate
  • Finish: Long, Delicate and Smooth
